A challenge to the opposing concepts of "odors": acidity and alkalinity.

While many products on the market masked odors with fragrance, 'Clear Assist' was developed with the aim of fundamentally solving foot odor. After considering various forms, we adopted a "powder form" because simply sprinkling it into shoes and wearing them allows us to simultaneously address all three major sources of odor: feet, socks, and shoes. The first generation 'Clear Assist' received a great response from the time of its release, but we later discovered an unexpected need. In addition to the businessmen we initially anticipated, we found that a significant number of housewives were purchasing it for their children's sneakers, especially those used in active sports clubs. Responding to urgent requests such as "I want to do something about the strong sweat odor that makes the entire entrance hall smell," we began development of a renewed formula that further pursues deodorizing effects.

The biggest challenge in designing the new formula was achieving deodorizing effects against all three major causes of foot odor. The most difficult opponent was acetic acid, the source of sweat odor. Acetic acid is an acidic odor, and its properties differ from alkaline odors such as ammonia, which are other malodorous odors. When we tried to deodorize both of these at the same time by mixing the ingredients, the ingredients canceled each other out, and we faced the challenge of losing the deodorizing effect altogether.

By combining physical adsorption and antibacterial properties, we have obtained our first patent.

To overcome these conflicting challenges, we went through repeated trial and error, combining approaches that not only neutralize odors but also physically adsorb and "trap" them with ingredients, and approaches that "suppress generation" by disinfecting and antibacterializing the odor-causing bacteria. As a result, we finally arrived at our own unique formula that can powerfully eliminate all three major malodorous odors. With the adoption of this new formula, the deodorizing effect against acetic acid has improved by 1.5 times compared to conventional products.

Furthermore, this formula has resulted in our company's first patent. I decided to apply for it at the urging of my supervisor, and when we successfully obtained it, I felt more relieved than happy, thinking, "It was a series of firsts, but we managed to pull it off." I received many congratulatory messages from other departments as well. This experience has served as a catalyst, and now there is a movement within the company to apply for new patents for other products. This patented formula is expected to be highly effective, so if you or your family members are troubled by foot odor, please give it a try.
